Sheltering from the Cold

In Social studies we were learning about the frozen world and how the Inuits and Nenets live in this frozen world. So we made little flap books. On the flap books we compared their shelters by draining an igloo and a chum. We showed the outside of the shelters on top and when you flipped it open we drew diagrams showing the inside. The Inuits live in Igloos. Igloos are houses made out of snow and ice. The Nenet shelters are called Chums. Chums are tents made out of reindeer skins. We explained how to make one and the materials needed. It was really fun learning how the Inuits and Nenets live.
